I have been trying & so far have been pretty sucessful, at going to the gym 3 times a week. I usually try to focus on cardio, either running or riding the bike or both & then some sort of crossfit workout. I have just started to journal again what I am doing at the gym or outside the gym for exersize here. This way I can compare how much I have improved on workouts over time. This really is a crossfit thing to do, but I think the idea of measuring physical strength improvement is a great idea.

So I have been going for about a month now & it is so funny how you notice that the same people go to the gym around the same time everyday. I always start to wonder what their lives are like or what they do outside the gym? I know weird, but true. The gym I have been going to is called the Red Mountain Multigenrational Center, & I'd say about 75% of the people that are there to workout are 70 years old or older. I love seeing the active older people. They really are making an effort to improve their lives. It makes me so happy to see. I know what you are thinking when you see the above pictures, who is this creep person taking photos of other people at the gym. Well, I know, it is a bit weird, but I love seeing this couple everytime I am there. They seem so happy, they are always holding hands, even when they walk around the track. I swear they have to be married for more than 50 years. I imagine that they met in high school, fell in love, ran away & got married, but of course this is just my imagination. I do admire them though, they really look like they are best friends & do everything together. I hope that my marriage is like this, I love the thought of growing old with my best friend, spending all this time with them. Still seem creepy of me?
I downloaded the app, Crossfit Travel (it's the one that looks like a suitcase with the letters CF on it) recently. I am loving it so far. It is a great app for doing workouts that don't require any equipment. It is all based on running & body weight exersizes. Which is perfect for me, because I don't always feel comfortable using equipment I haven't used before.
I know for me, it was hard to decide to go to the gym, but with 3 little kids it was hard to figure out what to do with them while I worked out or when I would workout. So now I just put it on my schedule to go first thing on Monday, Wednesday & Friday's, this way it's planned & the kids know too. That way everyone is on the same page.
& sometimes it's just about getting started.
