Soccer boy + other stuff.

Dax has been playing soccer for a few weeks now. & it turns out he is pretty dang good at it. His first game he scored 5 goals, there was a total of 7 goals scored for his team. He came home from that game & drew this picture all by himself. Even put his name on it. I was so impressed. I love his drawings. I love when he is passionate about something.

 

other stuff: I know I have been a lazy butt around the blog front. I guess you could say a lot has been going on. Life has been going on. & it drives me crazy that I haven't been recording it. I will be better. Cause I love looking back at it & seeing how we are growing & progressing as a family.

Trying new things.

This past weekend David did something he has never done before, he ran in the Phoenix 1/2 Marathon. Amazing to me that he even wanted to do it. He is what you call determined. Once his mind is set, it's on! I guess I am a little like that too, so it's good. Our kids seem to have some of that in them too. I have a very determined 4 year old who will try the same trick over & over until he feels he got it good enough to move on.

I took Dax to the BMX park on Monday. I am trying a new tactic with him, kind of like a reward system. Going to the BMX park is probably his very favorite thing to do. & his least favorite is probably going to school, it's not even the going to school part he doesn't like, it's the seperation from me that is hard for him. The getting dropped off thing. He has been known to throw quite the fit about it. So...my solution is take something he loves & something he doesn't love so much & make them colide. The deal is, if he goes to school good all week, then he gets to go on a day date with me to go to lunch & the BMX park, just the two of us. So far it is working out great! Let's hope he can keep it up. He really is a good kid, but also requires a lot of one on one attention, which can be hard in a house full of little people.

It's a balancing act for sure!

When things seem so chaotic I can't think straight, I have to pull up pictures like this, when all 3 of them are getting along good & are playing all on their own. It's moments like this, that I remember that it is all worth it. That I am on the right path & hopefully so are they. I do love being a mom, it is for sure the hardest thing I have ever done, but so so worth it.

weekends. trains.

Rudd has a slight obsession with trains. Choo choos, as he calls them. He calls them by name. He lines them all up & loves watching them go around & around the house. First thing when he wakes up he asked about them & tries to take them to bed every night. He doesn't usually let his brothers get too involved in what he is doing, but yesterday he was ok with letting them all play together. This was awesome. I love watching all 3 of them play together & figure things out together. It really does make this "being a parent" thing really really worth it! & sometimes I need reminders like this to help me appreciate the small things in life do matter, which is something I forget most of the the time.

It has to be done.

I am potty training this little cutie this week. He looks pretty innocent here, but he sure can be a pain also. We are about to start on day 3 of this whole potty training experience & I guess I can say it has been going pretty good. The book I read, 3 day potty training, makes it really seem simple & their is a clear way to get your child going in 3 days or less. We will see if it proves right with Rudd, he can be a bit stubborn. I did this same method with Dax & he was trained in 1 day. I am trying not to compare Rudd to Dax, but 2 days down & we are still going strong. I may be needing a serious break by the end of the week, but for now, it is 1 day at a time. Hoping today is the magic, he gets it, kind of day.

Starting out right. right?

To start off this new year of 2012 we drove home from San Diego. Awesome! really it was horrible. The kids were fussy & whiny & all of the above the whole time. But we are home now. & they are asleep & I am happy. It was actually a great trip to San Diego & I am glad we went, the trip home just sucked butt.

Thanks Mom & Dad, it is always crazy fun to visit the condo!! Dax is convienced that we need to live there. (I agree)

 

Ollie. 1 year.

Today is Ollie's 1st birthday!

I can't believe it.

These 2 are a mere 14 months apart. & I am loving their relationship. Ollie is finally getting big enough to interact with his brothers. & Rudd is loving it too. It seems as everyday passes, these 2 are getting closer in age. I think soon enough, they will seem more like twins than a little over a year apart. They are into the same mischief & trouble. They play so well together, which makes for easier days for me.

Things about Ollie as he is 1 now:

he is trouble. gets into everything. trys to climb on everything.

teething is horrible for everyone, especially you. You get ear infections, diaper rash & sleep horrible.

but when you not teething, you are happy & smily & love to just explore every corner of our hosue.

you love trying to keep up with your big brothers.

you are almost walking, you take a few steps here & there, but crawling is just faster for you right now & so that is what you perfer.

you are eating most everything now & perfer whatever we are eating over baby food.

you love your bottle, but only when you are in bed or are tired.

you are finally, & I say finally, sleeping through the night. I have been waiting a year for this & am so happy you are finally sleeping about 12 hours a night! this is HUGE!

We love this little man & are so glad he is part of our family!! Even though, he is trouble...

haircuts, the dunes & other things...

Lots has been going on around here the last few weeks. David & Dax went to the dunes for the weekend with all the other big boys. Dax is getting really good at riding his dirt bike. & he loves camping more than most things in life.

We also finally got the boys hair cuts. Ollie got his first haircut too. he HATED it. Cried the whole time. But at least his mullet is gone.

This time of year gets so busy & it seems like everything happens so fast. But the thing that I don't want to happen is having this holiday season pass & it not get documented. I feel like our boys are growing up really fast & things are moving so fast all the time, that is is hard to remember to slow down & remember to document.

So that is my goal. To document. To remember the details, so that I can share them in the years to come with my ever growing boys.
