hello again

crafty little boy+mama.

Whenever I am creating in my studio, he wants to be right there along side me doing whatever I am doing. He is finally getting old enough, where I can set him up with his own supplies & he can do something crafty with me. It's the only thing that is keeping me sane these days. talk about your high energy kid!

So while Dax was doing this, I was doing this:

I hung this sign in our front hall. It has been part of an unfinished project that I was determined to finish after a year of it not getting done. talk about your procrastination & lack of motivation.
here is the wall complete (I love it):

I made these frame things for the wall out of cheap wire from home depot & some screws. Then I printed a bunch of photos & taped them to the wall with masking tape. They are just a bunch of pictures of our little family (mostly of Dax).

boys & their toys.

David got him started very early at knowing what a motorcycle is, what it sounds like, & how cool it would be to ride one. Well, he has yet to actually ride one, but I think just sitting on one for now is just fine. (especially as the mom)

Yesterday my brother in law & his four boys & david loaded up the trailer & headed to the track. Dax thought he was going. He was telling me bye-bye, he got in the car & shut the door, with me standing outside the door. well, when it was actually time for them all to leave & I had to take Dax out of the car, he was heart broken. seriously, I felt so bad for him. I guess a few more years & then he can go with them. For now, it will have to be toy dirtbikes & dirtbike sounds & sitting on them in the trailer. good enough for me for sure, maybe not for him, but I am not complaining one bit.

Doesn't have to be Monday.

It's a Thursday.
& I have decided that I suck at photo shop+illustrator.
& I am going to fix that.
& I have been a suck photographer lately.
& this little boy is too cute to NOT take more photos of him.
& so...
Today I am starting a project I am calling ONE A DAY.
here's what will hopefully happen:

• I will take at least one photo a day
• I will do some fun stuff to it in photo shop+illustrator
• post it on my blog
• print it out & put it on the wall in my place I have made for ONE A DAY photos.

& that is that.
I am determined.

BUILD UP + broken arm.

BUILD UP is the name of the little t-shirt company I have started. Recently I have learned how to screen print onto t-shirts, which has lead to a slight addiction (or a full blown addiction). It all started when two things happened, 1: I couldn't seem to find any cool t-shirts for Dax to wear & I was sick of settling on the cutesy ones you find around the childrens stores. & I was sick of paying $30 when I wanted a cool skater/surfer t-shirt. & 2: my friend heidi swapp let me try out her brand new yudo machine. That's really how it all started, I just new that I had these images floating around in my head that would look really RAD on my little boy.

& I think they do look rad on him.

So, I have taken plain white hanes t-shirts & dyed them different colors. Washed them & then screen printed designs on them that I have created on my computer. I am still learning & experimenting, so I figure they can only get even cooler looking. Right?

I also figured, if I was having a problem finding cool t-shirts for Dax I am sure other mom's are having the same issue for there little boys? that's when I decided I would make them in a few different sizes & sell them in my etsy. Here are a few examples of what I have made, to see all the unique designs check out my etsy shop.

oh also, trama in the house this week when Dax fell off a bar stool in our kitchen & broke his left arm. We just got a cool blue cast put on it today. I need to take pictures of it.

So this picture was about a month back, but my sister just gave it to me. love my little family & so glad that we will be having another little boy join it in just a few months.
