improving.

do you ever find yourself improving upon an already pretty great space? if you are like me, everytime i am out shopping i seem to find myself falling in love with something else for my studio. when my husband is always like, "don't you already have enough stuff for your studio?" & my response is always, it's messy or i need this to make it more organized, or its just too cute to pass up. so here i am again. i found these awesome baskets at ikea. in the bathroom section. they were so cheap (of course from ikea), so cute, & of course will help me be more organized. i had to move my pink door up some, but its still just as functional & now i have all these baskets to keep a bunch of stuff in that i like to look at all the time. that way i use it more, cause i see it. isnt it funny how we can find pure joy in something as simple as a basket?

a love.

when i was in LA last week i went to paper source. love this store. how or why paper & envelopes & stickers make me so happy i am not sure, but the simple fact is that they do. i love to buy them. to look at them. to use them in my everyday. its something that just makes me smile. whats so funny about it all is that a small bag of purchases of paper & etc. can cost so much & the fact is that i just dont care. cause i love it so much. it really does make me giddy.

now i just need to create something using some of the stuff. thats the trick to it all.

but i do love how this photo turned out. i dont like many photos of myself. i think this one really says a lot of who i am though.

little fix up.

when i was at em's we put this cool wood trim around her new work space bench. so when i got home i thought it would look so cool to do it to my island. my 3 year old niece kennedy was over hanging out with me & wanted to help me paint. i didnt want her to get paint on her cloths, so i had her put on one of my aprons. when she took of her pants i figured she would at least have underwear one, but for some reason unknown to me, she didnt. i thought it was so cute. i had to take a photo. besides that, i think the pink trim looks good! matches my pink door on the wall perfectly. love that about my studio. i can do whatever i want, cause it's my space.

flea markets.

it was my first experience at a flea market & i fell in LOVE with it. seriously the best time. i could have shopped for days. when i went to LA i didnt know i was going to have the chance to go to the flea market with em. it was just a bonus for the weekend i chose to go out. & man am i glad i did. i had so much fun hanging out in LA & seeing all of em's favorite spots. it was a great weekend. really helped me feel like getting back into the swing of things. i feel like i have been out of it lately. but now is the time to get back into the swing of things. i dont know if its cause all around school is being. like the start of a new season or what? but i feel it. its in the air. loving it. its a good monday. love coming back into a week after having a great weekend.

sitting in LA.

its 7:56 am on sunday morning. i am sitting at em's waiting for her & tara to get ready so we can go to some awesome flea market down in Long Beach. {can't wait to see what i find.}

on wednesday i was talking to em about her studio space. about how she hates her studio space & doesnt feel creative in it. we have talked a lot about this in the past, but i really was feeling like i wanted to help her out. plus i wanted to get out of dodge. she kept saying {& so did i} i wish you could just come out for a few days & help me with my space. so i did. i never do anything on impulse, but it totally was. so i have been here since thursday helping her & playing. & shopping {of course}.

if you want to see before pictures i am sure em is going to post them on her blog.  anyway, we are off to the  flea market hoping to find somethings for my house. loving em's new space. it is making me really happy right now.
